About K.L.Wightman

Thanks for visiting KLWightman.com! I started this blog to explore all facets of creative writing.

After years of a successful marketing career, my blog now also explores content marketing, social media and branding.

About Me

K.L. Wightman, Kaitlyn Wightman

Most kids don’t know what they want to spend the rest of their life doing, but I knew early on that I wanted to be a writer.

My parents hoped I’d grow out of this phase and gravitate towards a more lucrative career. As we all know, making a career in writing isn’t so easy.

But I was determined. I went to school and earned two degrees in writing, having no clue how I’d make it work.

Fortunately, the universe did. I took on a marketing job to help pay for that fancy M.F.A. degree and found myself a destiny.

I have moved across state lines a handful of times and across the country twice, all in the name of building the writing career I want.

And now my parents can rest well at night.

I love talking about all things content marketing and branding, from shaping the marketing strategy to best practices in content execution and delivery.

I’m still a creative writer at heart, so I love exploring character development, plot structure and trending topics on fictional writing. I also partake in NaNoWriMo (or my version of it) every year to keep my creative roots alive.

Now I’d love to learn about you. Email me to start a conversation.

  1. Hi K.L. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Looks like writing and stories are ubiquitous in your life. I’ve never heard of a “continuity editor” before; that sounds like a really interesting job (I hate continuity errors). Best of luck on your current works-in-progress.

    • A continuity editor is another name for script supervisor for a film. A script supervisor does way more than just making sure all the small details in the film are continuous, but there were script managers on these film sets, so my task was continuity editing featured normally in a script supervising job description.

And thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

  2. Hi Kaitlyn, it was a pleasure to meet and dine with you Saturday at Press Publish. I have mentioned your work to my husband and look forward to reading more from you here. I look forward to staying in touch!
